I was recently giving a presentation to a local business group talking about SEO (search engine optimization) and how to rank higher on Google.
And then I mentioned a critical step for SEO success and was met with lots of questions. Not one person in the room had heard of it!
But you guys, it’s so important (for both local & online businesses) and I want to make sure that each and every one of you know it needs to be done if you want your website to show up on Google.
So, what is this mystery step that everyone with a website needs to do?
💥 Set up Google Search Console for your website.
Write that down. Underline it. Circle and star it.☆
Google Search Console is a free Google tool that you set up for your website, which lets Google know that your site exists, the pages it includes, and more.
And for you, Google Search Console helps you monitor your site’s performance in search results, watch for indexing errors, and more.
💥 Anytime you make big changes to a web page, or set up a new one, you should submit it to Google Search Console.
To give you a visual of what Google Search Console is, I’ve recorded a super quick 2-minute overview walkthrough:
During that presentation, I also got lots of questions about how to do keyword research for your business. I just launched a mini-course for only $67 that shows you exactly how to do this.
