Want to rank higher in Google search results without blogging? Try this.

Hi, there!
I’m Amanda – designer, dreamer, and online marketer.

Zag is the Anchor ‹A› blog dedicated to helping you reach your biggest business goals.

SEO (search engine optimization) is easily the #1 thing my clients are asking me about in 2021.

I think it’s safe to say this is an undocumented symptom of the COVID pandemic. As more and more of our meetings, projects, and business efforts have moved online, we’ve started asking, “How can I start showing up in Google search results???”

(For the answers, definitely check out this blog where I break down SEO, step-by-step.)

But today, I want to talk about SEO’s right-hand (wo)man…

Content.

Don’t worry if it sounds a little ‘blah;’ we’re going to make it way more fun in just a minute.

But first we need to establish a couple things. Starting with how SEO works.

Google wants to serve up search results that are relevant and valuable to the searcher. In addition, it’s trying to match keywords.

So…

A. You need to have some good, high-quality content on your website so Google can, at minimum, match you up to those searched keywords.

B. The more awesome content you have, the more likely Google is going to serve up your website as a search result…and rank it higher, too.

You might be thinking, “Yeah, I’m not interested in starting a blog.”

Sounds daunting, right?

But here’s the best part, there are other ways to add great content to your website besides adding a blog. Woohoo!

Here are other ways you can add some value-packed content to your site without the commitment of a blog.
They’re like the website version of a nutrient-rich fruit smoothie. Quick and packed with benefits.

  • FAQ page
    • This is a super-easy way to both answer the questions you know your audience is asking and also tackle those target keywords.
  • Educational series
    • Basically a blog, but without the commitment. Create three great articles around a theme, and serve those up as an educational series. Plus, this content positions you as a credible expert (added bonus 🙌).
  • Resource section
  • Again, this option is great because you’re not committing to publishing regular content. A great bonus about this type of content is that if a client or potential client wants more info on a specific topic, you can easily just send them to one of your resources.
  • Case studies
    • There are so many benefits to adding case studies to your website. Not only do they give you incredible social proof, but you can easily share these as portfolio samples to potential clients. Add a lead gen to each one for more impact.

So what do you think?

Relieved that you don’t have to start a blog to increase your online presence and beef up your SEO?

I hear you. That’s why my advice here is to do what you can to make progress.
