How to Install Your Site Kit / Theme

Table of Contents

Before You Start

Here’s what you’ll need before you start the installation process:

Set Up Website Hosting + WordPress

Hosting is where your website will live on the internet. I recommend choosing a web hosting plan that is designed for WordPress and already has WordPress installed. If not, you’ll need to install WordPress separately.

If you haven’t purchased hosting yet, I recommend Flywheel. They make everything 10x easier and have great customer support.

Purchase Elementor Pro License

Set up an Elementor account and purchase a Pro license here. You only need to purchase 1 Pro license for the website builder ($49/year). Once you purchase and get your account set up, keep this tab open and handy for the next steps.

Getting Started

Log into your WordPress site to complete the next steps.

Important
  • If you are installing onto an existing site, always, always, always have a backup in case you need to restore it.
  • I’ve tested the installation process many times and I recommend completing the steps in this specific order for the best installation experience.

As you continue building out your site, I want to recommend a few resources from Elementor. They have a lot of documentation that’s very helpful.

Troubleshooting

If you are getting the following error while importing your site kit, try the following:

  • Create a site backup (always recommended)
  • The import attempt likely created the site pages, but they’re probably empty. Go to Pages and delete the new, empty pages.
  • Roll back your version of Elementor and Elementor Pro to 3.7.7. Here’s how to do this.
  • Try importing the site kit again.
